Discovery launches Eurosport 2 in Spanish

The Discovery Group is dubbing all content for Eurosport 2 into Spanish, aiming to re-launch the channel's brand with more local fare.
Eurosport 2 has a wide sports offering, including three tennis Grand Slams (Australian Open, Roland Garros and US Open), Major League Soccer, the Eurocup, winter sports like snowboarding, and biking competitions including the Paris-Nice and the Criterim du Dauphine.
The Discovery Group, which also recently announced the acquisition of broadcasting rights for the winter and summer Olympics in 2018 and 2024, intends to re-capture the Spanish-speaking audience.
"Our strategy here is to continue development the Eurosport brand to become a reference in sports pay-TV content in Spain," pointed out Fernando Jerez, general manager at Discovery, Spain and Portugal. "Offering Spanish-language content in Eurosport 2 was an absolute priority for our company."
