StarHub teamswith Astro for football project

Singapore pay-TV operator StarHub and satellite TV operator Astro have launched a training programme for young footballers, called Astro Kem Bola (‘football camp’ in Bahasa Melayu).
StarHubThe sports programme offers promising young Singaporean footballers, aged between 10-12, to train with one of the best football clubs in Europe. Organised by Astro Kasih and supported by StarHub and the Football Association of Singapore (FAS), it is the first time that Astro Kem Bola will be held in Singapore.
It will begin with open trials in Singapore and Malaysia, followed by an advanced training camp in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the 64 best participants. The third phase will comprise an overseas training stint with a professional football club in Europe (yet to be announced) for the final 32.
Broadcaster StarHub will raise awareness of Kem Bola through its in-house SuperSports channels and social media presence. FAS will work at grassroots level with schools and clubs.
Astro Kem Bola is organised by Astro Kasih and 1MCC Sports. To date, a total of 11,000 children have participated in the programme since its inception in 2012. In the past, the overseas training phase has been conducted with British clubs Cardiff City and West Ham.
