Ukraine awards Kvartal TV satellite licence

A ten-year satellite licence has been awarded to 1+1 Media’s Kvartal TV channel by Ukraine’s National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting.
1plus1 media group 640x384 640x384The channel, produced by the national broadcaster, will be entertainment-based, comprising films, TV series and programmes from its partner the Kvartal 95 Studio, including Evening Kvartal, Baking News, Evening Kyiv, Crack Them Up, Humour Cup, The In-Laws, and The Servant of Nation. International content is also planned for the 24-hour HD subscription-based channel.
Kvartal TV will be available on Ukraine’s cable networks from 8 August, as well as through IPTV services. The channel will be distributed using the EBU-developed BISS satellite encryption service.
