Telekom Austria teams with Agama for new DTH platform

Agama Technologies, a Swedish provider of video service quality assurance solutions, has been selected by Telekom Austria Group as the strategic partner for service quality assurance for the Austrian company's new DTH platform for satellite pay-TV.
Telekom Austria Group's B2B product direct2home is targeted at broadcasting companies and telecommunication operators in Central and Eastern Europe, a region in the process of digital switchover that represents a market of around 75 million households.
With the new direct2home service, broadcasters can extend their footprint and deliver their content to new markets and telecommunication companies can enter the pay-TV business via Eutelsat's 16° East orbital position without investing heavily in infrastructure.
The first telco to deploy the new platform with service quality assurance by Agama's DTV Monitoring Solution is Telekom Austria Group's Croatian subsidiary Vipnet which will offer direct2home services to its existing cable TV customer base in the Croatian market.
