Qatar's Jeem TV (formerly known as Al Jazeera Children's Channel) has acquired the first season of the pre-school animated series Ella Bella Bingo.
The deal gives Jeem TV the exclusive Arabic language rights over Ella Bella Bingo in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Co-produced by Singapore's August Media Holdings and Norway's Kool Productions AS, Ella Bella Bingo has also recently been optioned for another 52 episodes by Norwegian broadcaster NRK.
"What is truly wonderful about this series is that children all over the world can relate to it, geographical and cultural barriers notwithstanding. I am sure that Ella will always continue to delight and inspire children wherever she goes," said Jyotirmoy Saha, CEO and founder, August Media Holdings.
Frank Mosvold, creator and executive producer of Ella Bella Bingo added: "Ella Bella Bingo has a talented creative and production team scattered in different parts of the world – Norway, Singapore, England and India. Now I am excited to see Ella travelling to yet another exciting destination – the Middle East."
Production of the show's second 2nd season has just ended, and is expected to air in Scandinavia and Asia during the first quarter of 2014. The third season is now in production.
Ella Bella Bingo is directed by BAFTA winning director Ginger Gibbons and scripted by Sam Barlow.
