Canal + Afrique to air NBA games

Canal Plus Afrique and the National Basketball Association (NBA) have agreed a new television rights deal across sub-Saharan Africa, excluding South Africa.
NBA games will be available to all Canal Plus Afrique subscribers from January 2015, with two games broadcast each week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The pay-TV provider has also committed to shoulder programming as part of the deal.
In South Africa, NBA games are shown by MultiChoice's sports network SuperSport.
The subsidiary of France's Canal Plus operates in more than 30 countries in Central and West Africa where it is predicted to attract around three million subscribers by 2017
