Premium online video channel Cinemax has joined the SlingTV line-up, marking the first time it has been available for standalone streaming.
Cinemax now joins the likes of HBO, Epix, Sundance TV and TCM on the platform. “What’s particularly cool about this announcement is it marks the first time Cinemax is available to cord-cutters on a standalone Internet TV service,” the DISH subsidiary said. Previously, it was only available to those who paid for a traditional cable package.”
When users subscribe to Best of Live TV or one of the Sling International base packages, Cinemax is available á la carte for an additional $10 per month. This includes a live, linear Cinemax channel found in the programming guide as well as a collection of on-demand movies and TV shows.
“With a new movie premiering every Saturday night, we know Cinemax is all about providing a cinematic experience – hence its name,” SlingTV noted. “But, we’d be remiss not to mention its popular original series like Strike Back, Hunted, The Knick, and Banshee. Banshee returns for its fourth and final season April 1, which gives you plenty of time to catch up on seasons one through three in Sling TV’s on-demand library. You can also look forward to Cinemax’s upcoming new series Quarry and Outcast.”
