Amazon takes LOVEFiLM to Xbox One

As the games platform hurtles off shelves, Microsoft’s new generation all-in-one gaming and entertainment system, Xbox One, is to offer films and TV shows from Amazon's LOVEFiLM Instant streaming catalogue.
Available now from the Xbox One App Marketplace, the LOVEFiLM Instant app features 1080P high definition streaming, Dolby Digital Plus (5.1) surround sound, the Watchlist – allowing members to organise the film and TV shows they want to watch at a later date – and Whispersync technology allowing users to pause and resume viewing on another device.
The online video app will also support a variety of new Xbox One features such as ‘snap’ and ‘fill’ modes designed to allow members to view content from a side panel on the screen while navigating other menus, games or apps in the main window. Achievements and Challenges are also supported with members able to earn badges by fulfilling actions such as adding titles to their WatchList or watching new releases.
The Xbox One’s Kinect motion sensor can also be used to enhance the viewing experience by allowing navigation around the LOVEFiLM Instant catalogue. Users can browse, select and move through content with the wave of a hand, while voice commands are also supported.
