Fox International Channels and Colombia's regional broadcaster Teleantioquía have started to film their first Latin series together, reaffirming their deal to produce original audiovisual pieces for MundoFox's schedule.
Fox's local production firm, Telecolombia, is already working in Medellín with Teleantioquía and the support of the Ministry of Information and Communication's technology. The first series will air during the second half of 2014 both on Fox's channel and the regional signal.
Fox intends to start a line of productions for its new LatAm channel MundoFox, which aims to offer 100% Spanish and original productions. The project represents the first deal between Fox and a public channel in Colombia, which, according to the Ministry, will also improve the transfer of knowledge between the two operators.
“The benefits of the communication technologies are almost unlimited, and this agreement with Fox will bring great input to Medellín's local industry and talents”, explained Diego Molano, ICT Minister.
“The series has to match two different and large markets, Latin America's pay-TV and Colombia's free-to-air, which makes the production a very special challenge”, added Samuel Duque, SEVP at Fox Telecombia.
