The Good Wife is to become the first ever US TV series to be remade in Korea, after CBS Studios International licensed the format to tvN.
Produced by director Jung-Hyo Lee, whose previous credits include I Need Romance and Heartless City, and written by Sang-Woon Han (Spy), the legal drama centres on the complicated relationships between Tae-Joon Lee (played by Ji-Tae Yoo), Hye-Kyung Kim (played by Do-Yeon Jeon), and Joong-Won Seo (played by Kye-Sang Yoon).
The series will see the highly anticipated TV return of actress Do-Yeon Jeon as the prosecutor’s wife who rejoins a law firm as an attorney after her husband of 15 years is arrested. Her charismatic husband, Tae-Joon Lee (played by Ji-Tae Yoo), is imprisoned through his involvement in scandal and corruption.
The Good Wife Korea will replace Dear My Friends on tvN and is scheduled to air from 8 July 2016.
Its US counterpart is currently in its seventh season since it first aired on CBS in 2009.
