Univision creates exec role for digital, multi-platform content

Univision has promoted Isaac Lee to the newly created role of chief news, entertainment and digital officer, with responsibility for managing digital content across all platforms.
isaac leeLee, who joined Univision in 2010 as head of news, will report to Randy Falco, president and CEO of the Hispanic media group, and will be responsible for Univision’s news, entertainment, and digital content, as well as the company’s music efforts. He will continue to oversee FMG, which includes FUSION and El Rey as well as The Root, The Onion, A.V. Club, Clickhole, Flama, Univision Digital and Univision Music.
This multi-platform strategy allows the company to strengthen its content offerings and build on the 81 million average monthly media consumers across Univision’s portfolio of media brands, which includes two broadcast networks, 11 cable networks, 126 local television and radio stations and its array of digital brands.
“Univision continues to evolve and drive innovation and I am confident that in this new role Isaac will further align our content and platform teams to strategically drive growth and engagement,” said Randy Falco.
Lee will also work closely with Televisa, with which Univision has lately maintained a solid commercial relationship.
“We have successfully transformed Univision into a multimedia industry leader and I look forward to working with our leadership team to further elevate our efforts and compete across platforms,” said Lee.
